While in Broken Hill, New South Wales, we visited the nearby mine.  Before entering the mine the visitors had to put on special mine gear.  A safety hard hat,  a heavy battery with a waist belt and a torch which fits onto the hat were issued by the guide.  He could not find anything which would fit me at all so I went in with ozeman, sticking close to him at all times so that I could see in the dark with his torch. I will just run and hide in ozeman's camera bag if the rocks start to fall in the mine.  I was quite excited when we got in the small carriage to take us down into the tunnel.  It was so dark in there just like midnight.
As you can see from the photos, we all had a nice time learning about the mine and how the miners dig into the rocks to find iron ores.  The miners risk their lives everytime they enter the tunnel to work.  They have to work as a team in this business and to be aware of the dangers associated with their work.  Look out for any cracks in the ceiling!.
Ozeman .. where are you?...I am frightened just thinking about those huge rocks coming down on us.
I was glad to be out of the tunnel, .. imagine .. being in there all day.
Your bluedog will endeavour to keep you up to date with any useful  information and interesting news  from Down Under  .........................promise,  BD

What I learned from this tour.
Ozeman and I, we are team players just like the miners.  If we stick together we can achieve and find great things in life.  Enjoy your days with your family and friends as you will never know when you will see them again just like a miner leaving home to work.  Even in our hour of darkness we can still find other people to be friends with and share our experience.
View of the tunnel ceiling..can you see a crack there?
